Progressive Engineering: Products > Effluent Systems

Whether you are wanting to pump it or spray it, we can offer you a solution with pumping systems from Doda and Yardmaster.

We offer our own floating pontoon packages complete with pump and stirrer options.

There is no one solution to applying effluent. Soil conditions, land formation, pumping distance and condtions all play a major part in selection of the right system best suited to your requirements.

Progressive Engineering prides itself on having agencies for all the well known brands.

K-Line Effluent Irrigation

Good effluent disposal is all about getting the required amount of effluent to the required area of soil and pasture with as little cost and as little effort as possible. We are all working to achieve the ideal balance in the soil of air, water and nutrients. To achieve this you'll have to consider such things as: the rate of application; the efficiency of application and not to mention the capital cost of setting up your effluent system.

Williams Spider

Williams Spider

The Williams Spider Irrigator has been designed especially for the trouble-free low maintenance operation of spreading effluent for small to medium farms.

Manufacturers Specification

Williams Spider Deluxe

Williams Spider Deluxe

The Williams Spider Deluxe Irrigator is designed to meet the needs of the larger herds and high volume wash down systems. Available in a choice of Stainless Steel for corrosive effluent or galvanised wire rope and options in lengths of 250 or 300 metres.

Manufacturers Specification

Williams Super Spider

Williams Super Spider

The Williams Super Spider has been designed to handle large quantities of effluent or water pumped from units like the Williams High Pressure Pumping Trailer or large electric powered pumps.

The special feature of the Super Spider is the large rotating gland with triple neoprene seals and totally enclosed precision bearings. Available in a choice of Stainless Steel or Galvanised wire rope and options in lengths of 250 or 300 metres.

Williams Super Duper Traveller

Williams Super Duper Traveller

The Super Duper Traveller is the largest version of the Super Range. It is capable of travelling a distance of 400m towing up to 90mm OD Alkathene(3" I.D. hose). The Super Duper traveller comes standard with a cable laying device which reduces crowning of the winch rope.

Williams Pump Pontoon For Floating Effluent Pumps

Williams Pump Pontoon For Floating Effluent Pumps

The Williams Pump Pontoon is a multi-drum float which allows the positioning of effluent pumps on effluent ponds.

The advantage of using a pontoon to float the effluent pump is it will pump from a set depth, floating on the surface of the pond. The level of the effluent in the pond does not alter the performance of the pump.

The standard pontoon set-up will cater for all types of effluent pumps from 3 H.P. to 20 H.P. The boom comes standard as a 5 metre length. It is of a ladder type construction which has a large 76mm O.D. effluent pipe and a 35mm O.D. service pipe for electrics.

It is attached to the side of the pond with a swing-around bracket system for easy servicing e.g. greasing of pump. (Other length booms are available on request).

A feature of this pontoon is that it comes standard with brackets to fit a pump covering drum.

Spitfire Irrigators

Spitfire Intelligent Irrigators

Know what you’re applying at any instant: Present travelling irrigators give no clues as to the speed or application depth. They change speed as the hose load varies or when they are moved to a new hydrant. The spread pattern means the outer edges get 2-3 times more liquid than the middle of the pass. The only way to know how much liquid they’re applying is to measure it with buckets and a stop watch. A Spitfire Irrigator eliminates all that fuss. Use the chart to simply set two selector switches for the desired application depth and then you let the irrigator governor do the calculating and controlling. You get more even spreading along the run and the same result from each hydrant. The runs are 50-60m wide x 300m long!

Reduce costs and waste less: Water is a precious resource. This irrigator measures the desired amount on to the pasture of crop automatically. You use just the right amount of pumping energy to get just the right amount of water. You save money by being more accurate and you’ve conserved the water.

Optimise nutrient and minimise your RMA risks: Dairy shed effluent is an important water and nutrient source for pasture, but it should be distributed carefully. (Spraying an unknown amount of liquid on to pasture with an unknown soil moisture deficit is ridiculous! How can you tell whether it will drown the pasture and suppress growth, or aid the growing pasture or just run off to the nearest water course?) You must know the soil moisture deficit and then measure the correct amount of effluent (or water) on with your Spitfire! Pasture responds better with just the right mix of air and water. Keeping it saturated chokes the growth rate and increases your run-off risks.

Conserve your capital: Big irrigators are costly. They need big gear, big hoses and a lot of effort to handle them. A lightweight Spitfire with a 24mm nozzle and a supply of 10 litres per second will apply 24mm water to a 3.3ha (600m x 55m) in 22 hours - big machine, small frame. It will also run small nozzles for less flow. (Its one 18mm nozzle is the equivalent of two 13mm nozzles which are commonly fitted to many spreader/irrigators but a Spitfire spreads nearly twice as far - and that one big nozzle is less prone to blockages.) Multiples of our irrigator make for more versatile farming.
